The former Chief Minister of Tamilnadu, Dr.Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi honoured M. Singaravelar by giving his name to the District Collector Office and by unvieling his statue on 11.6.1998 in the complex.
As Annadurai had remarked in memory of the forgotten genius M.Singaravelar his statue was unvieled at Puducherry on 21.11.2000 by the then Chief Minister Thiru. P. Shanmugam and Lt.Governor Dr.Mrs.Rajni Rai, along with several ministers. It is commendable that the Puducherry Government honoured and remembered him.
